CHL No. 111 Old Emigrant Trail - Modoc

NO. 111 OLD EMIGRANT TRAIL - Near the present Pit River-Happy Camp Road this old pioneer trail, part of one of the earliest roads in northeastern California, is yet easily traced. Trees eight to ten inches in diameter are growing in the old road bed.

Donald Larson adds: From Canby, go W on Hwy 299 to Pit River bridge (PM 18.01), then N on county road 84 (unpaved) for 4.7 miles (just past 5th cattle guard), 1/2 mile past the Turner Creek bridge.. GPS coords: 41° 25.213 N/121° 00.353 W
